Bălți Polytechnic College

The Bălți Polytechnic College was established by the Decision of the Soviet of Ministers of the R.S.S.M no. 208 of May 13, 1964.

The Polytechnic College of 30.12.1991 was transferred from the Ministry of Shipbuilding Industry of the U.R.S.S. subordinated to the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Moldova and the Ministry of Industry and Energy of the Republic of Moldova, with its reorganization in the Polytechnic College of Bălți from 01.07.1992.

By the Decision of the Government of the Republic of Moldova no. 148 from 02.03.1995 Bălți Polytechnic College is transmitted from the balance of the Ministry of Industry to the balance of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Moldova.

The Bălți Polytechnic College, on June 13, 2003, obtains the status of a specialized secondary education institution.
The Polytechnic College of Bălți in 2015 obtains the status of non-tertiary post-secondary and post-secondary technical vocational education institution levels IV and V ISCED.

The Public Institution Polytechnic College from the municipality obtains in 2020 “Certificate of external quality evaluation”, TVET series no. 0032-20.

Services

The College ensures the training of specialized staff for the national economy in the field: electrical engineering, electronics and automation, mechanics and metal processing, information and communication technology.

The development of the institution focuses on changes and innovative approaches determined by the strategic orientations of the state, the trends of the evolution of the educational field, the European standards and the current scientific approaches. The Polytechnic College implements the Transferable Study Credits System, developed on the basis of the European Credit System for Vocational Training (ECVET), ”a student-centred system, which is based on the workload required by the student to achieve the objectives of the study program specified in terms of study purposes and expected competencies ”.

Admission to the College is organized based on high school studies with a duration of 4 years and based on high school and general education with a duration of 2 years.

The studies are completed with the passing of the Professional Baccalaureate and the qualification exam with the issuance of the diploma of technical professional studies through which the holder obtains the qualification of technician in the professional training program.

The college has trained about 11,200 specialists in the electronic training programs in the field of Electronics, starting with the first promotion, graduation 1968, until now.

In 2021, approx. 1006 students are trained full-time and part-time.

Approximately 404 students are trained in the Electromechanics and Technology Process Automation training program that is part of the electronics field.

Labor force

Education is provided by 63 professional teachers, most of whom have teaching degrees: higher teaching degree, first teaching degree, second teaching degree.

Internships

The students of the College carry out their internships at the enterprises in the country (private and state), with which the institution has agreements concluded by partnership on the basis of mutual interest.

Partnerships

The college collaborates with 2 universities (the Technical University of Moldova and A. Russo State University, Balti), centres of excellence and other colleagues from the country.

The college has signed partnership agreements with the ProDidactica Educational Center, UNFPA. Based on these agreements, the computer rooms where the practical activities are carried out in the training programs and in the field of Electronics have been renovated.

Infrastructure

The college has the necessary technical and material basis for the training of specialists with relevant skills:

8 computer rooms with 199 computers;
5 production workshops for practical activity.
