On February 13, an important milestone was reached for Moldova’s electronics sector with the signing of the Local Contribution Project supported by the “Strong Businesses and Communities for Moldova” project, financed by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (#BMZ) and Swiss Government, implemented by GIZ Moldova. This project marks a significant step towards further promoting the industry, integrating Moldovan companies into global value chains, and fostering educational initiatives in the field of electronics.
During the event, Mrs. Elena Maevski, Executive Director of ACEM, presented the association’s achievements and outlined its future plans. Elena Maevski expressed gratitude to the German and Swiss Governments for their continuous support in strengthening and promoting the electronics sector.
Mr. Vitalie Esanu, President of ACEM, emphasized the crucial role of the electronics sector in Moldova’s industrialization process. Mr. Eșanu highlighted that over time, this sector has become one of the priority industries for the country’s industrial development, demonstrating its growing impact on the national economy.
Mrs. Karin Hörhan, Head of Programme Strong Businesses and Communities for Moldova, acknowledged ACEM’s efforts in enhancing the visibility of Moldova’s electronics sector both locally and internationally. Mrs. Hörhan emphasized that the signing of this contract represents a new phase of growth and promotion for the industry, reinforcing the commitment to strengthening the sector’s position on the global market.

In his speech, Mr. Simone Di Stefano, Deputy Director of the Swiss Cooperation Office pointed out that improving the business climate for the electronics sector in Moldova remains a key priority. Mr. Stefano underlined that ACEM should continue working towards creating a favourable environment for companies, enabling them to develop further.
The Local Contribution Project presents a valuable opportunity to showcase, promote, and develop Moldova’s electronics sector. Through this initiative, ACEM plans to implement various projects aimed at integrating local companies into global value chains, advancing educational programs, and fostering connections among ACEM member companies.
